The Coolest Fall Trends Worth Breaking the Bank For
At The Heritage On The Garden, New England’s best season has never looked—or tasted—so refined.

Fall in Boston isn’t just about the changing leaves—it’s about elevating your whole vibe. From standout outfits and chic hairstyles to seasonal flavors and luxurious accessories, The Heritage On The Garden in Back Bay has it all. This centrally located hub makes it easy to refresh your look, your taste buds, and your style in one seamless stop. Think of it as your go-to destination for everything you need to embrace the season in style.

Anne Fontaine
When it comes to women’s clothing, Anne Fontaine is at the top of the game. The boutique shop has plenty of fashion recommendations.
“The Chorus black leather shorts are a must have,” says Anny Breton, an area manager with the store. “The small pleats and self-tie removable belt make the shorts easy to combine and to change the style from day to night.”
Breton recommends pairing them with a sweater or a statement jacket—like the Belle—for a unique, chic look.

Salon Mario Russo
Finding that perfect outfit is one challenge; knowing how to pair your hair and makeup with it is another. Luckily, the experienced stylists at Salon Mario Russo have all the inside tips.
“For color and makeup fall trends, we’ll be seeing more of a focus on a dramatic eye,” says Amanda Johnson, a colorist at the salon. “A chocolate brown, smokier, and shadowed look. Less lash extension, more natural of a lash.”
When it comes to the volume of hair, stylist and colorist Marcela Melguizo often sees big, bouncy blowouts. Removed from beach waves, there’s more of an emphasis on luxurious, put-together looks.
“We’re starting to incorporate a lot more accessories into hair, like scarves and decorative pieces,” says Melguizo. “With higher necklines in the cooler months, we’re seeing more pulled back and neat styles like ponytails into braids and feeding scarves into that braid.”

Legal Sea Foods
Once your look is perfectly polished, it’s time to refuel with some seasonal flavors.
Oysters sound perfect for the summer, but they’re actually truly in season when the fall rolls around. Slurp down a dozen, or roll with another in-season choice—scallops.
“Super delicate with a buttery taste, our chefs feature bay scallops in a variety of preparations—raw, seared, or baked,” says Christine Cocce, Legal Sea Foods’ director of marketing. “Throughout our menu, we work with seasonal ingredients like wild rice, sweet potatoes, fennel, dried fruits, and nuts.”
And of course, “A crisp fall day calls for a warm bowl of our award-winning New England clam chowder,” says Cocce.
Legal will have fall-exclusive menu items as well. Their annual Oyster Festival in October, lasting through the month, will feature special dishes like Oysters Rockefeller and buffalo fried oysters.
Bottega Veneta
It’s time to accessorize. Bottega Veneta has luxury handbags that will have strangers passing by doing double takes.
“For a relaxed yet elevated fall look, Bottega Veneta’s Andiamo bag in warm, seasonal tones—Amber or Fondant—is a perfect companion,” says Juliana Cook, store manager at Bottega. “Pair it with our new James ankle boot for modern edge, or a cashmere Intrecciato sweater to add texture and warmth.”
Bottega also has some new products for shoppers looking to grab the latest in luxury. The Campana bag, first introduced by Tomas Maier, is a versatile, everyday design that feels modern after 21 years.
“It’s a piece you’ll keep in your wardrobe forever,” says Cook. When it comes to the latest trends, she’s seeing big investments that transcend the fall season. “There’s a strong appetite for seasonless investment pieces that transition from city days to weekend escape,” she explains. Think Bang Bang bags for hands-free wear or Cabat totes for returning to the office.

Bistro du Midi
If you’re looking for high-end French fare, Bistro du Midi has a rich menu of bites.
“Fall is such a great season in New England,” says Chef Partner Robert Sisca. “Flavors I immediately go to are local apples, sweet corn, sweet potatoes, and Concord grapes.” The menu also features fresh seafood like oysters and scallops.
The Fall and Foraged tasting menu is the recommended option.
“It’s a perfect way to relax and let me do the cooking and planning for you,” Sisca says. “For the fall tasting menu, you get to enjoy items like fluke crudo, steelhead trout, foie gras, venison, and much more.”
The restaurant also hosts its annual Game and Truffle Wine Dinner every November. White truffles are one of Sisca’s favorite ingredients to work with during the season. Served up in a delicious tagliatelle with truffle butter, the delicacy has been a part of Bistro du Midi since it opened in 2009.
“Venison is another dish we’ve been serving since [we opened],” Sisca says. “Every year we compose a different Venison dish. I started hunting with my father at a very young age, and every fall this reminds me of that.”

St. John Knits Boutique
“Our tweed blazers are the perfect choice for any fall outing,” says Angie Tran, retail marketing events manager at St. John. “They offer just the right amount of warmth while delivering timeless style.”
Those blazers can be paired with jeans, skirts, or other layering pieces to create a versatile look for any occasion. St. John also has an array of leather and suede jackets for a more polished and sophisticated edge. When it comes to the trends, Tran says it’s all in the blazers.
“Blazers, blazers, blazers! They’ve truly taken center stage at our store,” she says. And her favorite part of fall fashion? “It’s the season where you can express creativity through styling—mixing knits, leather, and wool.”
St. John’s leather pumps will also help strike the right balance between sophistication and wearable ease.
Luxurious options. All in one place.
From Bottega Veneta to Bistro du Midi—and of course, Hermès, the cornerstone of The Heritage with its iconic accessories, ready-to-wear, and bespoke fragrances—this location ends up being a three-way intersection of luxury, high-end cuisine, and style.
